Scheduling A Summer Day Camp Tour

Please Note:

Reservations are required: Call 212-721–1223 ext. 225
Number of children: 20 children maximum per tour. (We can accommodate several groups of 20 children at a time.)
Cost: The fee is a flat rate for up to 20 children and all chaperones.
Payment: Must be made in full at least three weeks before you visit in order to confirm your visit. Your reservation may be given away, without notification, if payment has not been received on time. If you must cancel, please notify us at least two weeks in advance. Without at least two week’s notice, your payment will not be refunded and you will not be rescheduled. Half of the total fee is non-refundable.

While You’re at the Museum:

Please remember that your group is attending a special hands-on program that is presented for your group only. Sorry, we are not able to provide groups with tours of the entire Museum. This visit will not include free exploration either before or after your scheduled time.

Please arrive at your scheduled time. If you are late, we will not be able to extend your departure time, so your program will be shortened. We are unable to refund or reschedule missed visits.

IMPORTANT: You must prepare your groups in advance by dividing your children up appropriately (by age and number of children, as indicated above) before arriving.

There are no lunch facilities at the Museum. Weather permitting, you can picnic in nearby Riverside Park or Central Park. Also, there are fast food restaurants in the area. If you decide to bring your lunches, please bring a bag to store them during your visit.

Programs take place rain or shine. Prepare your children!

The Museum does not have a parking lot. Buses and vans can unload in front of the Museum’s entrance on West 83rd Street but must park elsewhere on nearby streets (for example, Amsterdam Avenue or Riverside Drive). Please be sure to inform your bus drivers of these restrictions as they are strictly enforced by the police department.

Please be aware that your group will not be able to visit the Museum’s gift shop during your visit. Educators have asked us to institute this policy so that their trip focuses on an educational experience, and it also helps maintain a more equitable experience for all of the children. Please share this policy with your chaperones so that they also understand that a visit to the gift shop will not be possible. If you wish to purchase items for your group from the Museum’s store, you may do so by contacting our Store Manager, Devon Jairam before your visit. He will gladly arrange an advance purchase for you over the phone and deliver the items to you on the day of your visit. Devon can be reached Monday through Friday at 212-721-1223 ext. 228.

Have any questions? Contact Susan Lim at 212-721-1223 ext. 225 or email her at slim@cmom.org
