CMOM inspires children and families to learn about themselves and our culturally diverse world through a unique environment of interactive exhibitions and programs.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius at CMOM

On October 23, 2009, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius attended a news conference at the Children's Museum of Manhattan on childhood obesity in New York City. CMOM announced a pilot program in coordination with the National Institutes of Health at the East Side House Settlement, a public housing facility in the Bronx, to educate children about nutrition.

CMOM’s Spring 2012 Benefit was a resounding success.

 

With 350 friends and supporters gathered together—and over $800,000 raised to support CMOM’s vital community outreach program—we could not have imagined a more inspired and heartfelt celebration of our commitment to families, the arts, health and education.. This outpouring of generosity and excitement also resulted in $66,000 raised that evening to provide FREE access to the Museum's educational exhibits for 6,500 Head Start families. This was a great start towards our goal of raising funds to serve 20,000 Head Start families in 2012.

Math Wizards PlayWorks™ Circle Time, 11:30am

4 & younger

Explore shapes, patterns and counting and listen to stories that build math skills.
Kindergarten Readiness Skills: Learn math vocabulary, build shape recognition and spatial awareness,  listening skills and learn to be part of a group.

Mural Wall Painting, 12:00pm

4 & younger

Mix paint on the PlayWorksTM  Mural Wall.
Kindergarten Readiness Skills: Science Skills (color mixing and cause and effect)
