Our NYC Souvenir Design Studio is open!  

Children of all ages can create souvenirs from iconic NYC designs and “Only in New York” wildlife moments including “Pizza Rat” and “Bagel-Wearing Pigeon.” The design studio will take place in classrooms or on the NYC Souvenir Cart daily from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm.
 

 

Independence Day Weekend

July1-4, 2016
Contribute to the Children’s Museum of Manhattan’s collective American Dream Quilt to express what freedom and happiness means to you this Independence Day weekend. You can also join us as we shake things up with wooden balls covered in red, white and blue paint to reveal one of a kind fireworks inspired designs.

NYC Souvenir Design Studio Start time, 11:00am

6 & older

Design amazing memorable souvenirs using real NYC MTA Subway maps and MetroCards, or turn hilarious “only in NY” moments into plush stuffed animal keychains.

Dynamic H2O Science Labs, 11:00am

6 & older

Engineer a miniature aqueduct system, clean water through natural filtration, search for pollutants and other chemicals in water or create prints to explore the diverse sea life found in New York City’s rivers.

Jam Band, 11:30am

5 & younger

Use tambourines, maracas, bells and rhythm sticks to make beats as CMOM educators lead you in a collaborative and creative jam session.

Mural Wall Painting, 12:00pm

5 & younger

Mix paint on the PlayWorks™ Mural Wall.

Home Sweet Home – Animal Habitats , 1:00pm

5 & younger

Come join us as we explore different habitats and the animals that live in them! Create a diorama to display your own animal home.

Skyscraper Block Building , 3:00pm

Use large foam blocks to explore balance and build your own structures. How high can you build?
