CMOM inspires children and families to learn about themselves and our culturally diverse world through a unique environment of interactive exhibitions and programs.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius at CMOM

On October 23, 2009, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius attended a news conference at the Children's Museum of Manhattan on childhood obesity in New York City. CMOM announced a pilot program in coordination with the National Institutes of Health at the East Side House Settlement, a public housing facility in the Bronx, to educate children about nutrition.

littleBits™ Inventions, 10:00am

6 & older

10am - 4:45pm
Brainstorm an invention and use littleBits™ electronic blocks to make your idea come to life. Experiment with connecting batteries, light and sound sensors to your invention to see what will happen!

Chain Reaction Contraption, 10:00am

All ages

10am - 4:45pm
Work in a group to build contraptions that create energy input and output that can lift a golf ball. Then, we’ll connect each contraption together to make one large chain reaction! How far will the golf ball go?
 

Little Scientists: Urban Gardening , 10:00am

4 & younger

Where does food comes from? How do plants grow? Learn about all this and more while you create your own herb garden to take home!  
Kindergarten Readiness Skills: Learn descriptive vocabulary, explore nature and sensory exploration.    
 

Movement & Circle Time, 11:30am

4 & younger

Sing, move your body and use your listening ears to hear special stories.
Kindergarten Readiness Skills: Learn new vocabulary, build listening skills and learn to be part of a group.

Mural Wall Painting, 12:00pm

Mix paint on the PlayWorks™ Mural Wall with your friends.
